JL Audio Car Subwoofers - A Trusted Audio Brand

The first predominating products by them were the PowerWedges, which were the first enclosed speaker systems available at the time. PowerWedges are famous for being concise yet providing some of the newest technologies for the time. The 8W2 woofer was released to be used with the PowerWedges. Being successful as an 8-inch woofer, the 8W2 was also released in 10-inch and 12-inch versions, both good as successful.

JL Audio then released the W5 speakers series in 1987. This series was built on the premise that speakers could be much more robust than they were at the time, and the W5 line surely raised the bar on future products. These speakers replaced the older ones that failed to give numerically sound that maintained a certain level of quality. JL Audio could barely keep up with their orders during this period, demonstrating good how innovative this company was in developing advancements in the car audio industry.



The next notable JL Audio line was the W6 series. This circumstance, the company focused on improving sound quality. Obviously, the W6 line was able to do so, because it was received very well in the sell. However, it appears that this JL Audio series demonstrates a slight problem, as volume now becomes an issue. I am looking for subs for my car perferably 12's and I don't have a vast budget. I was wondering on the cheaper subwoofers does anyone know about them like plye, legacy and subs in the let rang. Nothing like JL or kicker. Also I was wondering if a cheap amp at walmart might work? I want some bass to wrest money from the car a little but don't want extreme bass. I want it to sound nice not to just shake the car.

most people stand in want cheap car audio. which is fine. the problem is, that after they get there stuff, there disapointed, and thought it would be better then it really is. so having said that here is my announce to to you.

first off, if you want a little bass, just so the lows in the car sound good, then get a 10". they principally sound better then 12s but are not as loud. there also cheaper. next is try to get a sub with a low rms. that way you dont need to get a big expensive amp. to get a sub with a limited budget, that doesnt perceptive like a*s, you need to resort to the internet. check out sites like www.woofersect.com. i know they have MB Quart woofers on jumble sale right now. i thin there 70% off. also dont be afraid to buy a new sub off ebay. infact i recomend you buy a Boston Acoustics G2, a 10" or 12" is up to you, off ebay. they go for about $100. sureness me, its worth a little extra money for it. you will not find a better sounding sub for less money. i can almost promise you that.

obedient deals are out there. i'll put a link to the Boston sub on the bottom where i list my sources. save up a little money, and get stuff that doesnt suck. otherwise you will be sad and spend more and more money on a system. which over time, can be tons of money.

you can learn the easy way or the hard way. I started with a 15" Jenson and a "Rockwood" amplifier i bought at a flea exchange.

look i know what you want to here. but i know better than to tell you to pick up some jenky sony xplode woofer and a kenwood amplifier.

the accent is, installation is somewhat tedious, you're going to have to route RCAs/power/ground/remote, with that in opinion, try and do it right the first time.

Do summers get hot where you live? You can fry eggs on junk amps, not to mention their circuit boards.

set right sure you use at least 10 gauge power and ground, 8 if you want to play it safe.
