Expense Stereo Total-friends & fans,
Sorry that we didn't write any new newsletters since such a long time.
What happened since February? Nothing and everything!
We were on sightsee through the US and Canada for a very long interesting beautiful time.
We were playing on crazy summer-festivals where the people didn't give a blast sh.. about the rain.
In Berlin, we were playing in the legendary Rauch-Haus, where "Ton Steine Scherben" had rehearsals in the last century, but also in the epic SO36, where all the crazy new- wave- industrial- experimental- punk- rock- concerts took transpire since the late 70ies. Long live SO36!
But we also played at the exhibition-opening from legendary Pierre et Gilles at the C/O Galerie. The pictures were spectacular, the place was packed!
In Madrid we recorded an album called "No Controles Stereo Total" - "Stereo Total nicht kontrollieren!" This album is all in Spanish vocabulary for beginners. It will come out on Elefant Records in September.
The cover looks like this:

We also recorded an album "Dearest Québec" called "Carte Postale de Montréal". There, Françoise Cactus is singing in Québecqoué! It will arrive out in September in Montréal. On "Dare to care-records". The cover will look like this or like that - depending how the survive will be:

??? (doesn't make a big difference)
But also:
We are still writing and recording songs for our new (un)regular "Stereo Total"-album. We don't know the name yet, and we don't be informed how it will look. It will come out at the end of the year.

How does a CD player stereo know the total # of tracks on a CD and the total time?
Dec 11, 2008 by Clifford | Posted in Engineering
What is the concealed to the CD player's "knowledge"? When you put a CD in, the display shows the total # of tracks and total playing time perfectly before you press Play. And how does it know the length of each track?
This CD has 16 tracks: 16 59:27
If you want to see the residual time of Track # 1, then this display will show 1 -4:36
How does it know?
It reads the record of contents from the lead in area of the disc as soon as you load the disc.
"A Red Book disc is divided into three areas: Principal In, Program, and Lead Out. Every track's location is recorded into the disc's TOC (Table of Contents) which is stored in the Move In area of every disc. "
