Is there any device that will stream mp3's off of an external hard-drive to a stereo without using a computer?
To be more complete, I essentially want to find a device (if there is such) that acts like the brains, screen and controls of an ipod, where the outside drive is simply the storage. Either by streaming or direct line in to a stereo. I hope that clears it up a bit.
i bought a niggardly hug dvd player that has a usb port. it can play music and mpeg and avi movies from flash drives. it haven't tried using devoted drives yet, but i suppose it can play them too.
