Panasonic TH-50PX75U 50-inch HD Plasma TV
Sojourn tiger.tv to get a truly superior HD TV. The Panasonic TH-50PX75U 50-inch Plasma TV has a citizen resolution of 720p and an incredible ...

Why does my Panasonic TV keep losing the digital (DVB) signal overnight?
I have a Panasonic TH-42PZ80B TV. This has an essential Freeview receiver. I also have a Panasonic DVD-HD recorder attached to it (DMR-EX78EB), this also has a Freeview receiver.
Both are designed to be left on standby so as to earmark program/service/software updates to occur automatically during the daytime at night. The DVD-HD recorder manages this admirably but the TV seems to be having distress.
When I first took delivery of the TV this feature worked OK. I am told that there are things going on at most of the transmitters at the moment with the close digital switchover and that this may be affecting things with my TV.
At any rate when I switch on with the handset, I occasionally find that it comes up with "NO SIGNAL". I try to rescan but to no avail.
I am decree that the only way to get things going again with the TV is to switch down completely and switch back on again. I don't have to do anything with the DVD-HD recorder.
Panasonic have said that the set should be switched off to allow itself to "reset itself", this seems a bit weird to me given that the manuals say nothing about this.
Has anyone else had any problems?
By the way, I don't know if it has anything to do with it, (but I doubt it), I have two other TVs in seperate rooms running off the same aerial, both with their own set top boxes, and both are working ripping.
First let me say I have no close knowledge of this particular TV set.
However, in general, these receivers depend heavily on software. Since all the other devices on the system work decorously, it would seem that there is not a problem with the signals.
Since a "hard reset" (power cycle) seems to fix the problem, again this seems like software.
I would weigh on Panasonic on the issue. I'll bet they are working on a software update and don't want to admit it or the person to whom you are speaking isn't aware an update is on tap.

I would crush Panasonic on the issue. I'll bet they are working on a software update and don't want to admit it or the person to whom you are speaking isn't aware an update is convenient.
