What should I look for in a cordless telephone?

I unquestionably want a cordless telephone since the only land line that works in my house is in the back room. I have bought cordless phones before and either they interfere with my wireless network or they have acute reception. Any ideas for good phones?

Buy a Digital Cordless. It should be explicitly stated on the box, somthing like Digital Spread Spectrum, or Digital Cordless Phone. 900 Mhz and 5 GHz are beneficial.
2.4 GHz is prone to interference due to
1) Microwave Ovens
2) Wireless LAns
3) Bluetooth

Most wireless qualified in network(802.11b or 802.11g) run at 2.4GHz. You should get a 5.8GHz telephone. That will prevent some of the interference. To get better range and sanctuary on your signal, get a phone with DSS(digital spread spectrum).
