Nokia puts Booklet 3G netbook up for pre-order... in Italy

So, we've got some sizeable news and bad news. The good news is that Nokia's already offering up its Booklet 3G netbook for pre-order over in Italy, which is becoming an all-too-over-friendly scene for Nokia wares. The bad news is that the posted price is, um, absurd. During a keynote at Nokia Just ecstatic 09, listeners were told that the Windows 7-powered machine would ring up at "just" €570, yet Nokia's own Italian e-department store has it listed for €699. That's just over a grand in Greenbacks, though we get the feeling it'll be selling for substantially less once the determine-good emotions fade and cold, hard economics take their toll.
Update: As pointed out in the comments, the announced €570 expense was likely pre-tax and pre-carrier subsidy as is typical for Nokia's European announcements. The €699 premium is thus VAT inclusive.

| | |How to: Notebook vs Netbook
Netbooks seem to be growing in vogue this year, but ever wonder what they have over a notebook or vice versa? Can't elect which one to ...

Netbook? ?
I am reasonable of getting a ASUS 8.9" Eee 4GB PC Netbook Computer with Linux from Target. Do you have one of these? What do you think of it? Do you like it?
Could I like communicate with papers on it and like do homework and stuff on it? Also what colors does it come in?
Netbooks to old are designed to do little more than write e-mails, do word processing, and do a little web surfing (streaming HD video is strenuous). On the plus side they are ultra portable. If you can wait until March or April, I would hold out and get one of the new machines that ASUS is accepted to be putting out (Eee 1000HE or T91 or T101). These machines will have more power and will have more features. As far as Linux is concerned, Easy Peasy is the richest OS for these machines. Windows can be more memory intensive and can be harder on the battery. When Windows 7 comes out it might be a different feature, but Linux packs the most features for a smaller "footprint". Hope this helps and goodness luck in your decision.
Also: NewEgg.com (or even Amazon.com at times) might offer a better deal.
With Linux most of the software(programs) are not busy......so if all you need is homework stuff I would go with it. Another plus with Linux is it is harder to get viruses because not many ppl use it ya know?
