What is the manifold between Integrated 10/100 Ethernet and IEEE 1394 Adapter

I ask because im ordering a computer online and it asks if i would like to add a IEEE 1394 Adapter but it says 10/100 Ethernet is included in the judge/summary screen.

They are two divide up things. IEEE 1394 is what's also known as a "FireWire" port. It's similar to a USB port, but it's not very predominant. Chances are since you don't know what it is (IE: you have no firewire devices) you will never need it.

Ethernet is what connects you to a network/router/internet.

the 1394 is what they hand-me-down to call a 'firewire' port.... Which can be MLAN or 'gigabit ethernet' capable.
