Kenwood Excelon KVT-614 DVD receiver Over again


The unit works well however there are a couple of things that is not noted in the manual. First thing is that it does support both XM and HD boom box. However as I found out it will only use ONE of them. So you can have either one but not both. This is a real shame and was quite disappointing. The second thing is you can use either a USB thumb drive or the IPOD strand but not both. This limitation is not as serious because if you leave the usb connector withing easy reach you can swap them as you need to. It still is a pain however. I wanted to lash the ipod cable and leave just the end that plugs into the ipod exposed. Now I have to have all 3 wires exposed and have to plug up the car and switch them when I want to use a different device. All in all it is a good unit and I like it I just wish that these limitations had been made withdraw or better yet not had them to begin with. I also tried using a usb hub for the usb drive but it won’t read the device. A powered hub might m better but I don’t have one that will work in a car to test that.

What's the difference between Kenwood Excelon and Kenwood?

So what Non-Standard real is the difference between Excelon and regular Kenwood. Recently i got a pair of 6x9 4 ways kenwood speakers that are rated at 80 watts rms. retail it only costs about $120 but i got it for way cheaper than that. anyways if you look at kenwood excelon 6x9s they are more costly and some give less Rms wattage. What makes Kenwood excelon so much better even though it gives less wattage than regular kenwood products? this goes for most of the kenwood and kenwood excelon products. What makes kenwood excelon so much healthier?

Excelon is merely the higher end kenwood products like V12 alpine etc. Good speakers you'll notice have a better sensitivity rating, as i reward its rated in db for 1 watt at one foot or something of that nature. A more sensitive speaker will be louder with less amplifier power, thus the debase RMS ratings.
