Should I buy old-time speakers, or new ones for my vintage pioneer stereo receiver?

I can't spend more than, maybe $400. For my price range, would new or antique speakers be a better choice? Why? I found some polk's at future shop that I like, but can't really compare them to better very well, and I'm not sure what the difference is.

Buy new ones. The cones of speakers get old and run off at the mouth. Get new ones, just make sure the impedence (8 ohms, 4 ohms etc) is the same.
