How can I program a remote to work on my Sylvania tv/dvd combo?

I adrift my remote control for my Sylvania tv/dvd combo. I have a couple old remotes in my house that I can try to program. One of them has a code search button but the other doesn't. Any boost?

Their should be a vade-mecum with certain codes for ur tv and look up under the table of contents and it should tell u about a code that lets u hook it up Sound Luck
